Vada Strickert
Our very own beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Vada Strickert, passed away Aug. 12 at SunBridge Nursing Home in Moses Lake.
She was born May 3, 1934 to Louis and Katherine Perry in St. John. She married Albert Strickert in 1952. Albert was in construction, so they followed the jobs wherever they may have led.
Vada was a very loving and devoted wife.
They finally made their home in Moses Lake, where Vada became a mother of three. Vada was a mother at best. She would take anyone in and make them feel as if you were one of her own.
She loved her family with an unconditional love that no one could come between. Blood is thicker than water is what she would say.
Vada was a very busy, feisty little lady. She loved to play pinochle and cooking for her family was always a joy for her and us both. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She always had goodies for her grandkids.
She was a "great" grandma and spoiled them rotten, just as they should be spoiled by a grandma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Strickert in 2003; her mother Katherine Perry; and two brothers, Stan and Vern Perry.
She is survived by her children: Dodna Pickering of Moses Lake; John Strickert of Grand Coulee; and Shawna Schimke of Moses Lake; her siblings: Jerry Perry of Vancouver; Mick Perry of Spokane; Earl Perry of Pendleton, Ore.; Beverly Bonando of Pilot Rock, Ore.; and Penny Hoisington of Julietta, Idaho; her beloved grandchildren: Albert and Stacy Pickering and Dustin and Tyler Strickert.
You will be greatly missed little lady, but not forgotten. There will be no services at Vada's request.
