Doris J. Koehler-Winterholler
Doris J. Koehler-Winterholler, 85, of Moses Lake, formerly of Royal City, passed away Friday, Aug. 11 at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Royal Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Tim Snyder officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake.
Doris was born July 14, 1921 in Portland, Ore., to Gaines and Hazel Evans.
Doris lived with her family until she met and married Victor Koehler in Dec. 1941. Together they had three children, Danna, Patsy and Michael.
In 1959 Doris and her three children moved to Sunnyside, where she eventually met Albert Winterholler. They made their life there together until Albert's death in 1991. Doris then moved to Royal City to be near her daughter Danna.
Doris enjoyed her family, friends, and church family at the Nazarene Church. She was always ready to "go somewhere," even though she never learned to drive. She liked to fish, play games and watch food and craft channels. Doris was always asked to bring her Parker House rolls to any family dinner.
Doris is survived by her sister Margaret Peters of Sherwood, Ore.; her three children, Danna Underwood of Royal City; Patsy Heimgartner of Prosser; Michael Koehler of Sunnyside; four grandchildren: Angela (Darin) Smith of Royal City; Melanie (Daniel) King of Richland; Kerensa (Isaac) Zieske of Prosser; Tracy (Timm) McChesney of Bend, Ore.; and seven great-grandchildren: Danielle, Carley, Gracie, Lane and Justin of Royal City; Jacob and Wynter of Prosser.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Al Winterholler and son-in-law, Jack Underwood.
