| August 11, 2006 9:00 PM

Vivian Jackson, daughter of Wiley and Gracie Collins, went home to be with her Lord Aug. 10 in Moses Lake. Vivian was born Dec. 2, 1915 in East Wenatchee.

Vivian lived a full life. Her main interest was her faith in Christ and her family.

Vivian is survived by two daughters: JoAnn Ruffin and Karen Heilman, both of Moses Lake; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Chester Collins; and long-time family friend, Norma Guilmette.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Jackson; two sons: Fred Jackson and Randy Jackson; a son-in-law, Richard Ruffin; and five brothers and four sisters.

Vivian and her husband, Tom, built, owned and operated the Pioneer Market in Cashmere. She also served as head housekeeper at McKay Memorial Hospital, where she developed a procedure manual for hospital cleaning. This manual was adopted by many hospitals throughout the state of Washington. After her retirement in Grant Orchards, she and her husband opened Vee's Upholstery in Grant Orchards.

Vivian was an avid gardener, baker and seamstress. Friends and family alike fondly remember her delicious baked goods and the dolls that she made for family and friends.

Vivian's request was, "When I'm gone, please don't make me out to be a saint. I was a common person doing the best I could do."

Services for Vivian will be held at Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata at 11 a.m. Aug. 15. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Cemetery in Soap Lake. A reception to celebrate Vivian's life will be held at the home of Karen and Leo Heilman, 7679 Wild Goose Lane N.E., Moses Lake, following the service.
