Notice of Application and Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a request for a Variance was received on July 7, 2006 from Ru-Ben Dairy Inc. (Contact: Henry Benthem, 8532 RD 9 NW, Ephrata, WA 98823, 509-787-0969); and was found to be techinically complete and preliminarily appears to be consistent with the Unified Development Code and other applicable State and local requirements as of August 4, 2006. PROJECT: A Variance to GCC 23.08.200 Commerical Feedlot Standards, this standard requires feed lots not be closer than five hundred (500) yards of any existing dwelling other than the dwelling of the owner of the feedlot. The variance would allow the applicant to expand an existing feedlot towards existing residences. SEPA: Exempt. ADDITIONAL PERMITS: Conditional Use Permit. STUDIES REQUIRED: None at this time. LOCATION: The site address of the subject area is 8808 N Hwy 283 and is located in the southwest quarter of the intersection of Road 9 NW and Hwy 283, west of Ephrata; and is a portion of S 23, T 20 N, R 25 E, WM, Grant County, WA. (parcel # 20-0186-000) ZONING: Agriculture. Required mitigation will be pursuant to the Unified Development Code. OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING: Board of Adjustments hearing, 7 pm, September 13, 2006 in the Commissioners Hearing Room, at the Grant County Courthouse, 35 C Street NW, Ephrata, WA 98823. At this time any person(s) may appear and provide testimony. Comments must be submitted no later than 5pm August 31, 2006 to the Planning Department. All comments should be as specific as possible and may be mailed, hand delivered or sent by facsimile. Any person has the right to comment, receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision, and appeal the decision as provided by law and County Code. This may be the only opportunity to comment on the above listed materials.
