Elizabeth Hazenberg

Elizabeth Hazenberg, born May 15, 1906, at Engwieren, Netherlands, passed away on April 19. Elizabeth came to the United States in January of 1947 with her husband and three boys, Henry, Gerrit and Pete. They settled down in Lynden, Wash. until 1960, when they moved to Alaska for four years.

They returned to Washington, living in Edmonds until 1978 at which time her husband and her son, Gerrit, both passed away. She returned to Lynden until 1992 and then moved to the Tri-Cities where she lived for ten years. In 2002, she moved to Moses Lake, to be with her son, Pete, his wife Alice, and their family for the remainder of her years.

She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Herman and Peter John. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Henry and Marge Hazenberg, Kennewick, Washington and Pete and Alice Hazenberg, Moses Lake, Washington. Grandsons, Mike (and Nedra), Moses Lake, Steven (and Alicia), Kennewick, Bob (and Cathy), Texas, Henk (and Jodi), Alaska and grand-daughters Betty (and Bill), Moses Lake, Cindy (and Larry), Florida, Debbie (and Ron), Kennewick, and Tina (and Bill), Kennewick. Elizabeth has numerous great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Benson Family Funeral Services is honored to attend to Elizabeth's funeral arrangements. A visitation will be held at Benson's Chapel at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, 14403 Rd 2 NE, on Tuesday afternoon, April 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, Wash., at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26.
