Royal takes down Warriors in five

Three home runs, 15 hits give Knights victory
ROYAL CITY — The Knights put on an offensive clinic for Wahluke scoring ten runs in the first inning of play Tuesday.
The Warriors began the day with a 2-run outting in the top of the first with both runs coming off of a bunt single before Royal's AJ Eldredge struck out two batters to put the Knights at the plate.
"Wahluke played their hearts out today," said Royal head coach Rick Mitchell. "They're going to come out and make some noise before the season is over."
Ray Valle began the batting order for Royal with a single and was driven home on a single by Eldredge.
Jeff Jack doubled to left to bring Eldredge home and was driven in by a single to center from Garrett Werlinger.
Three runs later, Valle came back to the plate with a 5-2 lead and two outs to belt a 3-run homer that sailed over the center field fence.
"The difference between the last time we played them is that we hit the ball better today," Mitchell said.
Eldredge again singled and came home when Jack earned a 2-run homer to make it 10-2 and earned the last runs of the inning.
Wahluke scored one run in the top of the second inning before Royal's defense finished off the at bats for the Warriors.
Royal earned three runs in the bottom of the second, the first came on a triple to right by Zach Lewis that brought Anthony Garza across the dish.
Daniel Garza hit a pop to center to drive Lewis home before Colt Brown was brought home by Eldredge to make it 13-3.
The Knights earned their last four runs of the game in the bottom of the third and began it with a 2-run homer by Anthony Garza. Brown singled to get on base and was driven in by Valle.
The final run of the game was driven in by Eldredge, who brought in Daniel Garza who was walked during his at bat.
"We had three errors and I don't know how many mental errors," said Mitchell. "If those little things keep going wrong for us, we're going to get beat."
Wahluke scored one final run in the top of the fourth but could not put together the rally needed to come back against the Knights.
Anthony Garza was 1-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. Valle was 2-for-3 with a homerun, two runs scored and four RBIs. Eldredge was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Jack was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Daniel Garza was 2-for-2. Lewis was 3-for-3 with two triples, a double and one RBI. Cole Eilers was 1-for-2.
Eldredge was the winning pitcher giving up three runs on three hits with six strike outs and two walks. Scroggins came in relief and gave up one run on two hits with two strike outs.
