Ruth Shetler

Ruth Shetler, 77, a 50-year resident of Moses Lake, passed away Friday, April 14 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. At the family's request there will be no formal memorial service. Family and friends are invited to the home of Vickie & Charles Lybbert, 8674 Arlene Road in Moses Lake, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 to share memories and celebrate Ruth's life.

Ruth was born January 28, 1929 in Mammoth Spring, Ark. to the late Asa and Dora (Le Grand) Dye.

Ruth loved playing cards and dice games with her daughters. She loved hunting, camping and crocheting. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Lybbert and her husband, Charles of Moses Lake, and Patsy Leenhouts and her friend, Robert Klamm of Spokane; two sons, Geary R. Dowdy and his wife Virginia of Spokane and Lonnie D. Dowdy of Curlew; a granddaughter, Connie Sue Jackson of Moses Lake; a sister, Cathy Roberts of Moses Lake; two nieces, Rhonda Walker and her husband Keith of Moses Lake and Shelly Sizemore and her husband Darrell of Electric City; a nephew, Randy Roberts and his wife Debbie of Snohomish; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, G.R. Dowdy; her brother Willis Dye; grandson, Johnny Ray Jackson Lybbert; and great-grandson, Johnathon C. Jackson Lybbert.

The family suggests memorials be made to SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake.

In addition, the family wishes to thank the doctors and medical staff at Samaritan Hospital and SunBridge.
