Edwin John Driesen

Edwin John Driesen, 68, of Ephrata died Tuesday. Driesen was born April 27, 1937 in Hull, Iowa to John and Henrietta Driesen.

Edwin received an eighth grade education in the Sioux County Iowa Country Schools before working as a dairyman. Edwin had retired from the dairy business but was kept busy with his hobbies that included square dancing, fishing, traveling, his family and church.

Edwin was a member of the Community Church of Ephrata.

Edwin is survived by his wife Gert; children John and Lori Driesen; siblings: Harvey and Mary Driesen, Harold and Joan Driesen and Kathy and John VandeHoef; grandchildren: John Jr., LeeAnn, Tony, Amanda, Carrie (Gary) Workman and Jamie Alexander; great-grandchildren: Blake, Brittany and Alyssa; and special friends: Ken, Gary and Andy VanDyken, Jeffery Mercer, Jesse Sikley and nieces and nephews.

Edwin was preceded in death by his son Erwin Gene Driesen and parents John and Henrietta Driesen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Ephrata at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ehud Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at the Ephrata Cemetery.
