Loyl Edwin "Pete" Ring
Loyl Edwin "Pete" Ring, age 83, entered into rest on April 10, 2006 at Sun Terrace Assisted Living and Retirement Community. He was born on October 4, 1922 in Kearney, Neb., to William Henry and Hattie (Gordon) Ring. He attended grade school in Lincoln, Neb. The family moved to Montana where he lived until enlisting in the Army in 1943. He served as a Tech 5th Grade during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945.
On Oct. 22, 1947, Loyl and Irene Winifred Goddard were married in Anaconda, Mont. They lived in Montana from 1947 to 1980 and Moses Lake from 1981 until moving to Prosser in 2003.
Pete worked in construction as a skilled laborer until becoming disabled in 1980. He loved fishing and reading and was a member of the Prosser Congregation of the Kingdom Hall.
Pete is survived by his wife, Irene Ring; his children Gerald Edwin Ring of Darby, Mont., Steven Lyle Ring of Ephrata and Karen Irene Joslyn of Anacortes; his brother William H. Ring Jr. of Centerville, Iowa; sisters Marie Mueller and Martha Harrison, both of Elbert, Colo. and Lynette Laws of Melbourne, Iowa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandhildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Ring; and sisters Delvina Ring, Doris Livingston and Lavern Vance; stepbrothers Floyd Ring and Loyd Ring; stepsisters, Faye Ring, Fern Ring and Adeline Stickler.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Prosser Kingdom Hall. Memorials may be made to Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 330 Nunn Rd., Prosser, WA 9950. Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
