John Daniel Flores
John Daniel Flores died March 16, 2006 from injuries sustained in a bicycle/car accident on March 15. John was born October 12, 1957 in Roswell, N.M. to Jose and Frances Flores. In the 1960s the family moved to Moses Lake.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Thursday, April 20 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Fatima Center.
Johnny's gift was music. Ever since he was a young man, he had a unique talent for the guitar. Just by listening to a song, he could play it. Johnny played in a number of stage bands before he graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1976. He attended Central Washington University studying music theory and the history of rock and roll. Throughout his life he continued to play with various bands, even cutting an album in Nashville with a band called Fancy Colors.
For the past six years, Johnny lived with Mickey and Donna Taylor and was considered part of their family. He played in a band with Mickey Jr. called The Outlaws.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Frances Flores and an infant brother, Sotero.
He is survived by three sisters and six brothers: Rudy and Lottie Dabalos of Moses Lake, Robert Flores of Kennewick, Ricardo Flores of Denver, Colo., Randy and Gloria Flores of San Antonio, Texas, Ben Rhodes and Rebecca Flores of Seattle, Jose Flores of Moscow, Russia, Jimmy Flores and Jodi of Kennewick, Michael Flores of N.Y., and Mason and DeeDee Flores-Makus of Moses Lake. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnny Flores' gracious nature will be remembered and missed.
