| September 30, 2005 9:00 PM

Pickups begin Monday, run through Oct. 22

MOSES LAKE — Curbside pickup for Moses Lake residents wanting to dispose of brush and small tree trimmings begins next week and continues through late October at various locations throughout town.

Pickup begins Monday and continues through Oct. 22, and city officials will be collecting tree trimmings and brush from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during three different week-long runs. City of Moses Lake officials are asking residents to have their items curbside at the beginning of their scheduled work week to assure pickup.

The first run from Oct. 3-9 will be collecting trimmings in the Lower Peninsula south of Interstate 90 and the Peninsula Area from South Western and Milwaukee to Interstate 90.

The second run will be collecting from Oct. 10-16 in the Guffin Eccles and downtown area, and Montlake south of Eighth Avenue to the Interstate 90 bridge and west of Pioneer Way.

The third and final runs collect from Oct. 17-21 in the Lakeview and Hayden Estates areas, south of Wheeler Road to Highway 17 east of Pioneer Way and Farmers Drive. Collection will also take place in Knolls Vista, Basin Homes, Longview Tracts and Gateway Estates areas east of Stratford Road to Crestview and Paxson Road.

Brush and tree trimmings can also be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 22 only, at the Lower Peninsula Boat Launch parking lot at 3511 Peninsula Drive.

The City of Moses Lake said in a notice on the program that trimmings must be 4 inches or less in diameter and must be curbside and easily accessible. Tree stumps, nails, wires, leaves, dirt, grass clippings and wrapped or bagged items will not be accepted during curbside pickup.
