| September 1, 2005 9:00 PM

Julia/Julie Faye Pauling, a Moses lake resident for 30 years, went to be with her Lord on Monday. She was born August 29, 1932 in DeSmet, S.D. The youngest of three children of Clarence and Letitia (Minnick) Coster. Educated in DeSmet and Lake Preston S.D.

Julia held various jobs throughout her life including, but not limited to, sewing panels for hot air balloons for the government during the Vietnam War at Raven Industries in Sioux Falls S.D.; seamstress for Julienne Originals and machine operator at Extrusion making plastics bags in Minneapolis Minn. After moving to Moses Lake in 1975, Julie worked at the Skyline Miniature golf course and the Liquor Store. In 1984, she obtained her CDL, driving semi through 33 states with her husband Les.

She was an Auxiliary member of the American Legion, Eagles, a life member of the VFW and an active member of the Women of the Moose since Feb. 1978. She achieved several post positions within the WOTM including Senior Regent, earning Academy of Friendship and induction into the College of Regents. Members of the Ephrata Moose Lodge were not only her friends but her second family, watching out for her as she did for everyone she met.

Julie enjoyed many things in life: gardening, arts and crafts, sewing, traveling and most of all taking pictures; she was never without a camera. She was proudest of her accomplishments in darts earning her the nickname 'Hammer.'

Julie will be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor and her hugs - no handshakes, they spread germs, hugs spread love. She enjoyed helping people whenever it was in her power to do so. Collecting aluminum cans and pop can tabs for the Moose Lodge, an anniversary gift for her doctor, a baby gift for her hair stylist just to mention a few of her kind gestures. It was the little things that meant the most to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Les Pauling.

Survived by son Bob Thedorff ; daughter Deb Lund (Warren); sister Aletha Timmons; brother Robert Coster; grandson Erik Thedorff; granddaughters Stacy Thedorff and Rachelle Lynch (John) and great-granddaughter Faith; grandsons Michael, Aaron and Jason; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
