Genevieve Marguarite (Bugnon) Visker
Genevieve Visker, 88 Moses Lake resident passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church on Nelson Road in Moses Lake with Rev. Holladay Sanderson officiating.
Genevieve was born September 8, 1917, in New York City, N.Y. to the late French immigrants, Alphonse and Jeanne Bugnon.
She married Claus Visker in Reno, Nev. on April 29, 1945. They lived in the Sacramento, Calif. area for 15 years before moving to Warden in 1960 and then to their present home in Moses Lake where they owned and operated Haywire Dairy farm until their retirement in 1975.
Those who knew her would remember Genevieve as the lady with the silver streak in her jet black hair. She was very active and loved being "on the go." She was a member of the Humane Society for 15 years as a volunteer at the Calico Cat, Friends of the Library, Master Gardeners, General Federation of Woman's Club, O'Sullivan Community Club, "Merry Widows" Card Club, Brush & Palette Art Club, Literacy Program, St. Martin's Episcopal Church and graduated from Big Bend Community College with honors when she was 60 years old.
Genevieve is survived by one son, Randy (Su) Visker of Moses Lake, grandsons Travis (Andrea) Visker of Warden, Jeremy (Angela) Visker of Lawton, Okla., Claude Mavy, of San Francisco, Calif. Mitchell Rankin, of Sun Prairie, Wis., granddaughters Joan Kruse and Jan Marliave of Honolulu, Hawaii; and six great-grandsons Wyatt, Wade and Tyson Visker of Warden, Mitchell and Austin Rankin of Sun Prairie and Stephen Marliave of Honolulu. She is also survived by her very good friend, Rod Watson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Claus Visker; daughter Joan Kelly, brother Marcel Bugnon and sister Madeline Velotta.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society PO Box 75 or Meals on Wheels (Senior Citizens Center) 608 E. 3rd Ave. Moses Lake.
