In Loving Memory

Ruth Nadine McElderry

August 2, 1932 - October 2, 2005

Ruth Nadine McElderry was born August 2, 1932 in Alton, Missouri.

She spent her childhood years in or around Alton, but in the early 1940s the family moved to Wyoming, which proved to be the best move of her life. It was here that she met her life partner and best friend, Buck, in 1945.

After three years together they were married on Nov. 27, 1948 in the Pentecostal church in Laramie, Wyoming.

Following a brief honeymoon, it was off to Corpus Christi, Texas and a two year tour with the United States Navy.

After discharging from the Navy in 1950, Buck and Ruth moved back to Laramie for two short years. It was during this time that their first son, Coy, was born.

In April 1952 the family picked up and moved to Kent, Washington where Rocky, their second son, was born in September 1952. For the next 35 years the family lived in or around the Kent, Renton, and Maple Valley areas.

In 1990, Buck and Ruth moved to eastern Washington, specifically Marine View Heights near the Pot Holes Reservoir. This is where they lived until their recent move to the Mae Valley area of Moses Lake, where Ruth passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Ruth McElderry leaves behind her best friend, life-long love of her life, and husband of almost 57 years, Bernard Glen "Buck" McElderry of Moses Lake; her two sons Coy McElderry, Sr. and his wife Judy of Kent and Rocky McElderry and his wife Heidi of Ravensdale; her nine grandchildren Coy, Jr. and his wife Tonia, Melissa and her husband Miguel, Kevin and his wife Marie, Sheila and her husband Ralph, Justin and his wife, Suzanne, Laural, Lisa, Lucas, and Jordan; 15 great grandchildren, her beloved brother Gene and his wife, Dee, sisters Helen and Joy, nieces, nephews, and loving friends too numerous to name.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father Clarence Watson, mother Gladys Watson, and sister Geneva Baker.

Buck and the family wish to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
