Othello Police seeking armed robbery suspect

OTHELLO — Authorities are looking for a man suspected in an armed robbery attempt and shots fired incident here Saturday morning.

Othello Police Department officers responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. to Mi Carniceria on the 200 block of E. Hemlock Street. According to an OPD news release, an unidentified victim had arrived at his place of business where he was confronted by a Hispanic male wearing a black ski mask and armed with a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the victim during the robbery attempt, firing shots at the victim and later fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

OPD officials have described the vehicle as a 1980s Nissan-type car, gray in color, without a rear window and with a broken right tail light covered with red tape.

It was not immediately known if anything was stolen or if the unidentified victim was injured in the incident. OPD officials did not return phone calls Monday morning.
