Woman injured during robbery
Clerk found on floor of gas station
MOSES LAKE — A woman remains in critical but improving condition at a Spokane hospital after injuries sustained in an apparent gas station robbery Tuesday night.
Moses Lake Police officers responded to Westlake Conoco on Prichard Road at 8:15 p.m. after a customer walked into the store and found the clerk unconscious on the ground. The woman, whose identity is not being released, was transported to Samaritan Hospital with trauma to the head and was later transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
The incident is being investigated as a robbery, according to MLPD Captain Jim Jenkins. Nothing was initially reported taken, but a deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash was later found missing.
This is the second robbery in Moses Lake this week. The Moses Lake Burger King was reportedly robbed Sunday just before midnight. A man dressed in black and wearing a mask fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after indicating to employees that he was armed.
MLPD detectives are continuing to investigate the scene of the robbery and Jenkins said anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Annalisa Dobson at (509) 766-9230.
