Knights heading to semi-finals in Tacoma

ROCKFORD — Royal held Freeman scoreless after the first quarter in their 35-14 win Saturday.

Kyle Scroggins had the first score of the afternoon for the Knights. Ray Valle hit Scroggins for a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Valle found AJ Eldredge on the following scoring drive. Eldredge had an 85-yard reception for the touchdown.

Jeff Jack followed up Eldredge's score with an 8-yard reception from Valle.

Valle had a 4-yard scamper into the end zone in the fourth quarter.

Daniel Garza scored the final touchdown for Royal on a 14-yard run.

The Knights ended the game with 440 yards of total offense.

Valle was 19 of 36 for 316 yards with no interceptions and spreading the wealth to eight receivers during the game.

Jack had 93 yards on 23 carries and one interception with an injured arm. Eldredge had seven receptions for 161 yards and one interception. Scroggins had five receptions for 79 yards and two interceptions.

On defense, Royal held Freeman to 85 yards rushing.

The Knights take on Friday Harbor in the semi-finals at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.

"It's going to be a battle," said coach Wiley Allred. "We played them last year and won. They haven't lost since and neither have we."
