Moses Lake sends swim, dive teams to state
Lady Chiefs look to record season bests
MOSES LAKE — The Lady Chiefs held their final practice before leaving for state Wednesday.
Moses Lake High School will send a relay team, an individual swimmer and a diver to take on the other teams at the state competition this weekend.
"Everybody has been doing everything I have asked them to do for the past two weeks," said coach Tony St. Onge. "We have prepared to do well."
The Lady Chiefs are sending an experienced squad to swim the 200 freestyle relay this season. Angela Noteboom a senior, and the eldest member of the team, Ashley and Marielle McKean are juniors and sophomore Stephanie McFarland is the anchor and youngest member of the team.
McFarland is also competing in the 200 individual medley at the state meet.
Junior Amanda Hochstatter rounds out the team as the lone diver traveling with the team this weekend.
"We're looking to have season best performances," said St. Onge. "We're hoping to crack into the finals."
Moses Lake is also taking four alternates for the relay team: Annalee Bassett, Reilly Hourigan, Carrie Cortez and Hannah Grigg.
