Broncos win after first half shutout

RITZVILLE — The Broncos extended their home winning streak to 35 games Friday, defeating Selkirk 20-8.

Lind-Ritzville got their scoring started in the third quarter on a fake punt.

Zach Gardner handed off to Justin Whitney, who took the ball 19 yards for the first down. On the ensuing drive, Tyler Bruegeman caught a 10-yard pass from Travis Dewald for a touchdown.

Dewald followed his passing touchdown with a scamper into the end zone to make it 13-6 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, James Saetre had a two-yard run for the final touchdown of the game.

Dewald was 5 of 10 for 51 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Mike Osborn was 3 of 5 for 22 yards.

Nick Ashley had 12 carries for 54 yards. Saetre had 17 carries for 82 yards, two receptions for 25 yards and 11 tackles.

Chayse Pirello had two catches for 19 yards. Bruegeman had one catch for 10 yards, a touchdown and 11 tackles.

Lind-Ritzville finished the night with 243 yards of total offense.

Whitney had 10 tackles and an interception. Bobby Helms had an interception. Jarod Biermann had a fumble recovery.

The Broncos defense allowed just 34 yards passing.
