Victim is Othello man

ADAMS COUNTY — Authorities have identified remains found following a trailer fire Sunday morning as the missing Othello man who had been living in the adjacent trailer.

According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, preliminary autopsy reports show 43-year-old Jose Luis Murillo-Flores died from asphyxiation from the inhalation of hot combustible gasses.

The ACSO said that Murillo-Flores was the trailer's owner and could have been working on the trailer when the fire started. Sheriff Doug Barger said earlier this week that the family was making improvements to the trailer while living in the one adjacent to it.

Authorities from the ACSO and Adams County Fire District No. 5 responded to the trailer fire on the 600 block of Hays Road early Sunday, five miles west of Othello.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, the ACSO said.
