NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BEHELD, on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 by the Grant County Board of Commissioners regarding amendments to the Comprehensive Plan:

1) Adjustment of the Rural Residential 2 Land Use Designation to a maximum density of 1 dwelling unit per 5 acres, Countywide; and

2) Modify the Land Use Designation and Ephrata Urban Growth Area boundary for a portion of the area commonly known as the "Ephrata Area 2", an approximately 13 acre area made up of 7 parcels adjacent to Wal- Mart.

The Final Decisions and Orders of the Eastern Washington Growth Management Hearings Board mandate this review and action. This notice is intended to inform potentially interested parties about the hearing and to invite interested parties to appeal orally or by written statement at the hearing. The open record public hearing will begin at 11a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room on the second floor of the Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata, WA 98837. At the hearing any person(s) may appear and provide testimony following County Staff's presentation. The Planning Commission recommendation, Staff report, and SEPA evaluation (File #05-4017) are available from Hector Torres at the Grant County Planning Department at 32 C St. NW, Room 26a, P.O. Box 37, Ephrata WA 98823, (509) 754-2011 extension 623; office hours are 8am - 12pm and 1pm - 5pm, Monday - Friday. Written comments must be submitted no later than 5pm April 11, 2005 to the Planning Department. All comments should be as specific as possible and may be mailed, hand delivered or sent by facsimile. Any person has the right to comment, receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision, and appeal the decision as provided by law and County Code.
