Lois G. Shollenberger
Lois G. Shollenberger, 89, Moses Lake resident and a former longtime Spokane resident, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005 at her home in Moses Lake. Memorial services will be held and Holy Rosary prayed at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Monsignor Martin O. Skehan officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.
Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
Lois was born on Jan. 29, 1916 in Missoula, Mont. to Samuel Boone and Gertrude (Goodyear) Boone. Her father was a railroad section foreman and the family moved extensively throughout the state of Washington. Lois attended five high schools before graduating in Yakima, Wash. After graduating high school, Lois attended Business College and earned a degree in bookkeeping.
Lois met the love of her life, Alexander T. Shollenberger, while he was a welder on her father's railroad crew. They were married in Missoula, Mont. Five beautiful children blessed them. Lois and Alex raised their family in Spokane, Wash. where she resided for over fifty years before moving to Moses Lake, Wash. to be closer to her youngest daughter. She kept current with Spokane events by reading the Spokesman Review daily. One of her many pleasures was working the daily crossword puzzles.
Lois was proceeded in death by her husband, Alex; son, Harold and daughter Joanne. She is survived by daughter, Janet Lorang of Genesee, Idaho, grandson Roch; Helen, Caetlyn, and Lance of Lewiston, Idaho; son Paul and Linda Shollenberger of Reardan, Wash.; grandson Michael Shollenberger and mother Marta of Spokane, Wash.; daughter Marilyn and Gary Russell of Moses Lake, Wash.; and granddaughters Bonnie and Sara.
Lois will be greatly missed by her extended family and many friends and residents at St. Martin's Court in Moses Lake, Wash.
