David R. Paugh, 45, died unexpectedly on March 15, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 18 from 4-6 p.m. at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, Nampa. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at noon in Telford's Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home in East Wenatchee.

Dave was the second of seven talented and diverse children, born March 19, 1959 in Springfield, Ill. As a teenager in Minnesota, he became an avid outdoorsman and musician, avocations he and his many friends would enjoy the rest of his life. After graduating from the University of Minnesota he followed his dream and moved to Washington state. Dave was a teacher and leader at his work with Carnation and Simplot. His approach to recreation was the same; everything he did, he did well. Dave was an accomplished cyclist, cross country skier, hunter and fisherman. He was close to his family. Dave and his brothers enjoyed many adventures in the Northwest and Alaska. He was a lifetime student athlete and an avid reader. His talent and love for music transformed his fiddle to a sound of joy, last heard at his mother's birthday shortly before his untimely death. Nothing in his life could surpass his love for his children, Bailey and Keegan. Dave was unselfish and generous to his family and friends. He was a shining star who dimmed long before his time. Dave is survived by his children; parents, Betty and Don; sister, Kathryn; brothers, Don, Tom, Jerry, Jim and John and their families. He will be missed dearly by all who have known him.
