Joe Wood "J.W." Herrin, Jr., 22, lifelong Moses Lake resident, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his home. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

J.W. was born January 17, 1983 in Wenatchee, Washington to Joe and Marci Herrin.

He was raised and educated in Moses Lake graduating from Moses Lake High School in 2001. He went on to Big Bend Community College where he graduated with a general studies degree in 2004.

J.W. was an "amazing kid" with a wonderful sense of humor and a great outlook on life. He touched the lives of everyone that knew him.

He loved sports and carried that love with him in nearly every activity. He worked at the Moses Lake Family Aquatic Center and enjoyed spending time with Dad at various sporting events and community fund raisers. His love for sports allowed for dreams of being a sportscaster and sports writer. He was a Washington State Cougar fan and was a proud season ticket holder.

Many fond memories came from weeks spent at the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) summer camp where he became lifelong friends with special firefighter volunteers from the Tri-City area.

J.W. will be remembered by all as a loving and caring person.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Marci Herrin of Moses Lake; his sister, Randi Herrin of Mill Creek; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins from Moses Lake and the Seattle area; along with his three loving dogs: Riley, Roz and Taz.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Inc. 101 W. Indiana Ave, Spokane, 99205 to help support the MDA Summer Camp.
