Betty (Robison) Johnson

Betty Maxine Johnson, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away March 13, 2005 at Kennewick General Hospital, Kennewick.

Betty was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Maxine and Forrest Varney on Feb. 26, 1928. She attended Hansen school in Hansen, Idaho and married Ken Engel in 1944. Their daughter Irona Campbell was born in 1945 and Ken and Betty operated a service station in Hansen. Betty remarried Warren Robison in1947. Three children were born to Warren and Betty: Susan Robison of Kennewick, Kathy Lilya of American Falls, Idaho and Sheila Cellan of Pocatello, Idaho. The family farmed in Hansen, Idaho until 1954 when they moved to Warden, Washington to farm with Betty's family. In 1968 they moved to American Falls, Idaho where Betty opened a beauty shop. Betty remarried A.L. Johnson in 1983 and moved to Jerome, Idaho where she was manager of the Senior Citizen's Center for many years. Their many trips to Yuma, Ariz. resulted in many fond memories and wonderful friendships. They retired to Orofino, Idaho and continued to travel to Yuma in the winter months. Betty enjoyed the company of her daughter Susan with whom she resided until 2004 when she moved to Hawthorne Court Retirement Center in Kennewick. Among her many talents were singing in the Sweet Adeline's, playing the organ, golfing and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Irona, and Douglas Campbell of Warden, Susan Robison of Kennewick, Kathy and Terry Lilya of American Falls, Idaho and Sheila Cellan of Pocatello, Idaho; 11 grandchildren: Chris Campbell, Beau Campbell, Amy Snyder, Colleen McCullough, Cody smith, Ryan Scherer, Kelly Lewandowski, Adam Jensen, Louis Jensen, Dane Jensen and Conner Cellan; 14 great-grandchildren: Matt, Mickenzie, Wyatt, Chandler, Lane, Hope, Hunter, Hayden, Micheal Tyler, Garrett, Jordan, Kaitlyn and Keggin.

Memorial services will be held at Mueller's Tri Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick, at 11 a.m. Thursday March 17. Reception immediately following funeral.
