Sage Lorraine Steffler

| June 22, 2005 9:00 PM

On Saturday Sage Lorraine Steffler (Gilliam) went to rest due to complications unknown at this time, following a minor vehicle accident.

Sage was born Oct. 12, 1976 in Brewster, Wash. to Daniel and Marietta Gilliam (Schopp). She was joined into this world on that same day by her cousin Wyatt, born to her mom's identical twin sister, Marcella Rains. Sage grew up in a very close knit group of family and friends, most of whom remained involved in her life to its end.

In 1995, Sage married Matthew Gilmer in Bridgeport, Wash., and together they brought into the picture a beautiful daughter, Shai-Anne Marie, in July in 1996. In February Sage was wed for the second time to Travis Steffler, and brought into her heart his three children, to make a family of six.

The loss of Sage leaves a tremendous hole in the lives of all that knew and loved her; husband, Travis, daughters, Shai-Anne, Kayla and Kaytee, son Kevin, parents Ben and Marietta Getz of Moses Lake, and her brother, Adam Gilliam and wife Andrea of Seattle. Also her father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Diana Steffler of Moses Lake; sister-in-law Tracey Calderon and her husband, Carlos, of Boise, Idaho; as well as scores of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandparents.

Sage will always be loved and remembered for her dynamic, fun-loving personality. If you met her once, you would remember her. Though she went through a number of hardships and changes in her early life, she forged an independently strong personality that was greatly tempered with loved empathy for others.

A service will be held at the O'Sullivan Grange, 14724 Rd. 3 SE, on Friday at 4 p.m., with internment of her ashes following. This will be followed by a remembrance and celebration of knowing Sage, back at the O'Sullivan Grange. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with expenses will be accepted at the service, or can be sent in care of Sage's family at 534 Pacific Ave., Moses Lake, Wash. 98837.
