Walter Zylan

| June 21, 2005 9:00 PM

Walter Zylan, 68, passed away June 8 after a brief but very courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1936, in Andrew, Alberta, Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter Joan (Mike) La-Haise, of Chillwack, B.C., and Carrie (Josh) of Lynnwood; step-daughters Lorinda Thompson and Pam (Jeff) Patterson, both of Woodinville; son, Gary Zylan, of Surrey, B.C.; and step-son Ed (Penny) Weber of Moses Lake.

Wally was the quintessential grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren, Nikki, Kelli, Roger, Eric (Jessica), Steven, Jessie, Megan, Annika, Hilary, Alycia and Paiton; and great-grandson, Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mary Zylan; and step-daughter, Shelley Weber.

Wally and his wife Barb retired from Lynnwood to Moses Lake in 2002, after a career with the Department of Transportation. Wally worked on, and supervised many of the road and bridge projects we drive throughout Washington state. He was very outgoing and loved to converse on many issues with his family and friends.

We love you and miss you Pop.
