Francis (Billy) William Hinkey, Jr.

Bill Hinkey, 51, of Ephrata passed away at his home Friday, June 11. Bill was born June 13, 1953 in Colville to Frank and Joan Hinkey. He graduated from high school in Ephrata in 1971 and then spent time in the Air Force.

Bill married Karen Spoon in June of 1977. They have been married for 28 years.

Bill spent 13 years on the ambulance and fire department for Grant County.

Bill loved to fish, camp, work on cars and, most of all, being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Ephrata; his daughters: Casie of Kennewick and Nikki of Ephrata; His sons: Darrell of Arkansas, Raymond of Soap Lake, John of Gresham, Ore. and Billy of Moses Lake; his father, Frank of Creston; his brothers, Ed of Ephrata and Bob of Coulee Dam; his sisters, Nancy of Oklahoma and Jody of Ephrata; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Hinkey.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ephrata, 117 C. St. N.W. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at Nicoles Funeral Home at 157 C. St. N.W., Ephrata.

Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata is in charge of the arrangements.
