Charles Raymond Schenck

Charles Raymond Schenck, born Oct. 23, 1931 to the late George Raymond Schenck and Myrna Elmira (Mohney) Schenck of Ridgeway, Pa. passed away unexpectedly Saturday in Moses Lake.

Charlie is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Lou Schenck, and their children: Lisa (Steve) Crum, Steven Schenck and Nancy Schenck (Jerry Carpenter) all of Moses Lake. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Clair) McClintick of Eighty Four, Pa. and their children: Carol, Charles and Alan. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Sara Zarate of Moses Lake, Jeremiah Crum of Coronado Naval Station, San Diego, Calif. and Nicolas Schenck of Tacoma.

Charlie grew up in Pennsylvania and was often excused from class in high school to fight forest fires. He came to Washington in the early 1950's as a member of the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Othello Radar Station. He then worked, for a short time, as a firefighter with Boeing before beginning his career with the Moses Lake Fire Department in 1956. He continued his education at Big Bend Community College, earning his Associate of the Arts degree and his E.M.T. certification in 1970. Charlie enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing. After retirement he enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends at the V.F.W., Eagles and American Legion.

The family invites all to join in a celebration of Charlie's life at the Eagles Lodge #2622, 1517 W. Broadway, Moses Lake, Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
