DOGWOOD COURT PROJECT - 2005

Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 321 South Balsam, (P.O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until July 6, 2005, 2:00 P.M., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with "DOGWOOD COURT PROJECT - 2005" marked plainly thereon.

All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and/or to furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.

Copies of plans and specifications are on file at various construction councils and at City Hall and may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $50 at the above address. Only bids from those who have purchased plans and specifications will be accepted per the special provisions.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of reconstructing Dogwood Court northwest of Broadway Avenue, and extending the Activity Trail from Neppel Park across Broadway Avenue using stamped and colored concrete. The project work will include installing a pedestrian activated flashing beacon crosswalk system using one Type II and one Type III traffic signal standard, "bump-outs" to reduce the pedestrian crossing distances, planter areas with landscaping, water service connections, irrigation systems, drainage structures, decorative lights, an electrical service, a bench, a trash receptacle, basalt columns, concrete curb and gutter, cement concrete sidewalk, and detectable warning surfaces at sidewalk ramps. The project work will also include a fire hydrant removal, a fire hydrant installation, brick paver removal, brick paver reinstallation, and removal of plastic crosswalk lines.

Estimated Project Cost: $225,000

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
