Charles Shatto

Charles (Dick) Shatto of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away Friday, April 29 at the age of 82.

Dick was a former resident of the Yakima Valley and Columbia Basin areas from 1952 through the 1980's. He worked for many of the local farmers including, friend and employer, Martin McCullough.

Through the years, Dick worked for Country Gardens, American Foods, Lamb-Weston Quincy and Carnation in Othello.

Dick was a WWII combat veteran and was buried at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, with military honors May 3.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna May Shatto; their five children: Judy Argo of Washington, Winnie Scoppettone of Dannville, Calif., Sherry Valdez of North Richland Hills, Charlie (Dick) Shatto of Maple Grove, Minn., and Carol Sartain of Brookfield, Miss.; and one brother Elmer Shatto of Marceline, Miss. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
