Sandra L. Carlson

Sandra L. "Sandy" Carlson, 55, of Othello, went to our Father in Heaven on Thursday, May 26 at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, after a two-year battle with lung and brain cancer.

Sandy was born on September 12, 1949 in Tacoma to Howard A. and Lillian M. Clark Johnston. She was raised in Snohomish where she met her husband Jerry Carlson. They lived in Snohomish and raised their three daughters there. In 1989, they moved to Othello to farm and enjoy their cattle operation.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jerry, of Othello; three daughters, Rhonda and son-in-law Dave Bethel of Snohomish, Tanya and son-in-law John Lee of Quincy and Kim Carlson of Othello; five grandchildren Katie, Joshua and Weston Bethel and Blaine and Miles Lee; a brother and sister-in-law, Wally and Bev Johnston of Port Angeles and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Sandy's life was held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Othello, with Pastor Mark Peterson.

A time for a final visitation was set aside at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will be at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello.

Memorials are suggested to Cancer Care Northwest Foundation and can be made through Stevens Funeral Chapel.
