Margaret B. Morton

| July 21, 2005 9:00 PM

Margaret "Peggy" Morton passed away July 15, 2005 at Robisonwood Assisted Living of natural causes. She was born in 1913 in Helena, Mont. and was 93 when she died.

A graduate of the Providence Hospital School of Nursing, she practiced nursing for a number of years and early in her career returned from a one-year assignment in Honolulu, Hawaii only one week prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

After marriage, Peggy and family resided in Seattle before moving to the Tri-Cities, and Moses Lake, and returning to Kirkland in 1980.

She was active in grassroots politics and charitable civic causes. Her passion was bridge, particularly duplicate, and she loved to travel and follow her beloved Seahawks.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband "CJ" in 1965 and mother Margaret "Mimi" Butala in the mid-1970s. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gloria of Bellevue; a granddaughter, Stacey, of Washington, D.C.; and grandson Brett of Redmond.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the M.S. Foundation; an affliction Peggy waged a long and courageous battle with much of her life.
