Jessie Mae Sparks

Justine "Jessie" Sparks, 64, a longtime resident of Royal City, passed away Monday, July 18, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.

Jessie was born in Dunseith, N.D., the daughter of the late Mary Younger and Carl Sinclair. She was married to Frankie Sparks in Weiser, Idaho and shortly thereafter moved to Washington where they farmed and raised their family. She was a devoted follower of "The Truth," a non-denominational church. Jessie enjoyed her arts and crafts, which included making porcelain dolls and Victorian lamp shades. She also enjoyed tending her rose garden and many memorable moments with her grandchildren and dear friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband Frankie Sparks of Royal City; six children, Josie Bean of Ephrata, Hollie and Kevin Halliday of Orlando, Fla., Patty and Scott Robbins of Royal City, Dawn Sparks-Fick and Frank Fick of Moses Lake, Kenneth and Michelle Sparks of Moses Lake and Lioness and Tricia Sparks of Othello; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; step-father Lealon "Pete" Younger, Moses Lake; four brothers, William George Iron-Bear Tapio, Moses Lake, Robert "Bobby" Curtis Giffen, Moses Lake, Arden Lee Iron-Bear Tapio, Kennewick, Joseph Jay Younger, Kennewick; and numerous relatives residing in North Dakota.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Red Rock Elementary School in Royal City.
