Catherine Helen Clark, 95, Moses Lake resident, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 21 at 11 a.m. at Cityview Cemetery in Pasco. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Inc.

Catherine was born Oct. 9, 1909 in Mutual, Okla. to Alpha and Catherine Mills Nelson. She was raised and educated in Mutual surrounded by three brothers and two sisters. Beginning at an early age, music played a big part in her life. Family members often gathered to sing and play music with her mother on the piano and her father playing his fiddle.

Catherine married Vernon Clark on Aug. 2, 1926. They settled in Mutual until the winter of 1936 when the Great Depression and the dust storms in the area forced them to move to Twisp.

Catherine loved to play the piano in church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed reading and spent many hours camping and fishing with her husband.

The family moved to Richland in 1944 where Vernon worked for Hanford. He died in 1974. Since 1978, Catherine has lived in both Cheney and Moses Lake, remaining close to her children. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Clark of Cheney; two sons, James (Harriet) and Charles of Moses Lake; a brother, Lawrence Nelson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
