Othello man killed in head-on crash
Alcohol a factor in the accident, WSP says
OTHELLO — An Othello man has died after striking another car head-on on Highway 24 near here Sunday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 20-year-old Adrian Torres Guillen was westbound on the highway when he crossed the centerline in his 1984 Toyota pickup and struck a 1998 Jeep Wrangler head on.
Torres Guillen died in the crash, and was transported to the Stevens Funeral Home in Othello. Both cars were totaled in the accident just before 11 p.m., where troopers responded to a scene two miles south of Othello at milepost 77
The driver of the Jeep, 33-year-old Khamnane Singsanavong of Othello, was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for injuries sustained in the crash.
The roadway was bare and dry when the crash occurred, the WSP said, adding that the crash was caused as a result of improper lane travel. The WSP said also that Torres Guillen was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
