Golda Violet Bowman

Golda Violet Bowman, of Independence, Ore., died July 6. She had recently celebrated her 104th birthday with family and friends.

Golda was born on June 25, 1901, in Spickard, Mo. and moved to Monmouth, Ore. in 1904. She married Charles Bowman on March 16, 1921 and they farmed their entire married lives. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading. She belonged to Rebekah Lodge and was a member of Home Extension and Farmer's Union.

Survivors include daughters: Marian Warren of Independence, Ore. (formerly of Moses Lake) and Edna Hunsaker of Klamath Falls, Ore.; four grandchildren including Charles Warren of Moses Lake, James Warren of Monmouth, Ore. and Mary Lou Warren of Independence, Ore. (both formerly of Moses Lake); seven great-grandchildren including Justin Warren and Chaz Warren of Moses Lake and Dayna Warren and Sutton Warren of Spokane; five great-great-grandchildren, including Jordan Crites of Spokane, who recently graduated from high school. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bowman, in 1987.

Funeral services were held Monday in Independence, Ore. and interment followed at Fir Crest Cemetery in Monmouth, Ore.
