Mabel E. McLean

Mabel E. Murison was born Aug. 13, 1912 in Mansfield to James and Ethel Murison.
Mabel attended Rose Hill Country School and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1930.
She worked at the Mansfield Telephone Office and Restaurant prior to her marriage to Lloyd McLean on Nov. 20, 1933.
Mabel and Lloyd ranched at St. Andrews until Lloyd's death in 1998. She resided at Hearthstone Inn in Moses Lake until her death.
She was a charter member of the St. Andrews Grange and served as Home Economic Chairman and Secretary.
She was a Douglas County 4-H leader for 20 years and served as President of the Douglas County Cowbelles.
She is survived by her son Phillip (Rayma) of Moses Lake, her daughter Phyllis (Tom) Jess of Waterville, grandchildren Jason (Cami) of Moses Lake, Aaron (Darby) McLean of Spokane, Jenny (Dan) Nighswonger of Moses Lake, Jim Jess of Pullman, Wade (Stacey) Jess of Grand Coulee, great-grandchildren Evan and Mia McLean of Moses Lake, Sydney McLean of Spokane, Garrett and Cody Jess of Grand Coulee, Ty Jess of St. Andrews, Brandon Jess of Wenatchee, her sisters, Ethel Poole of Mansfield and Margaret Smith of Spokane, sisters-in-law Dorothy Leedy of Wenatchee and Dorothy Murion of Mansfield. She was "Aunt Mabe" to many nieces and nephews. Survivors also include longtime ranch hands, Dan, Kathy, Dawn and Mark Sanderlin and her cousin, Ian Taylor of Sydney, Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd, brother George Murison and sister Ellen Gallaher.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Coulee City Presbyterian Church. Private family burial service at the Mansfield Cemetery.
