Betty Mae Melton Moore

Betty Mae Melton Moore, 74, Moses Lake, passed away Friday, Feb. 18 surrounded by family at her home. She was lovingly cared for at home during her brief battle with cancer by her granddaughter, Krystin Moore, and Daniel Shelton.

Betty was born on July 18, 1930 at Naponee, Neb. to Douglas and Lora Mae Melton. They moved to Wilder, Idaho in 1936 and later to Homedale, Idaho where she was raised and educated. She married Jay Henson in 1947 and in 1962 in Stephenson. In 1950 she married Donald Keckler in Council, Idaho. In 1984 she married Howard Moore in Caldwell, Idaho and moved to Moses Lake.

She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Lora Melton, her brother Marvin Melton, sons Hank Keckler and Steve Allen Henson and husbands, Donald Keckler and Howard Moore.

She is survived by her children: Lora Lee and Donald Hopkins, Caldwell, Idaho; Wayne Henson, Portland, Oregon; Judy and Art Fokakis, White House, Texas; Jimmy Keckler, Louisiana; Donald and Terry L. Moore, Moses Lake; and LuAnne Snow, Spokane. Grandchildren: Paula, Melody, Gloria, Farrah, Kathy, Michelle, Michael, Sasha, JJ, Holly, Shawna, Joy, Cameron, Jason, Krystin, Anthony, Bree Ann, Baylee and Emmily and 19 great-grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be conducted at Pioneer Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Floyd Wilks officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
