Mellie Maxine Winder

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mellie Maxine Winder, peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center after enduring a long illness.

Maxine was born April 29, 1925 in Ruth, Nev. to Ralph and Alice Andrew. She spent her youth in Menan, Idaho where she met and married her sweetheart, Floyd Winder, on Sept. 18, 1943. On Dec. 19, 1945, their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. In 1953, when the first water came to the Columbia Basin, she, her husband, and family moved to Moses Lake. Maxine's life was one of love and service to her family and church. Cooking, sewing and gardening brought great enjoyment to her and her family.

Maxine is survived by a sister, Marian Waggoner; a brother, DeWayne Andrew; her husband, Floyd Winder, and their seven children: Linda Garbett, Orem, Utah; Shelia Piper, Moses Lake; LaMar Winder, Moses Lake; Sherrill Davis, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mickie Yeates, Quincy; Joleen Black, Orem; Tanna Gledhill, Provo, Utah; 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Moses Lake Stake Center with Bishop Reid Baker of the Moses Lake 6th Ward officiating.

Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory.

Viewing will take place at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday.
