Alejandro A. Hernandez

Alejandro A. Hernandez, 89, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Alejandro Trejo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Viewing will take place at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Alejandro was born December 15, 1915 in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico to Macedonio and Rosario Hernandez.

He was the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters.

Alejandro was just 12 years old when all the family moved from Mexico to Crystal City, Texas where he attended school until he was drafted into the US Army during World War II.

After his tour in the United States Army and his honorable discharge, he returned to Crystal City where he was married.

In 1951 he migrated to the Walla Walla area and in 1953 he moved to Moses Lake where he has resided since.

For many years he was a farm laborer until he became employed by the city of Moses Lake. He was employed by the city until his retirement.

After his diagnosis with Alzheimer's, he resided at LakeRidge Special Care Center for five years. Prior to that he lived with his niece, Mrs. Azucena H. DeLaCruz.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Antonia H. Gonzales and Olivia A. Hernandez, both of Moses Lake; also by 11 nieces and nine nephews: Mr. and Mrs. Jose Cavazos (Yolanda), Moses Lake, Mrs. Azucena H. DeLaCruz, Moses Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sosa, Sr. (Betty), Grand Prairi, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hipolito, Sr. (Imelda), Moses Lake, Mrs. Gloria Hernandez, Crystal City, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Alfredo Hernandez, Jr. Cystal City, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Jose H. Noyola, Mr. Jose Guadalupe Noyola, Mr. and Mrs. Ramiro Ortiz (Graciela), Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cruz, Sr. (Rosaelia), Mr. Juan H. Noyola, Sr., Mr. Mario H. Noyola, Mr. and Mrs. Marty Griffith (Cristina), Mrs. Marisela H. Noyola, Mr. Fransisco Noyola, all of Moses Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Raul Gonzales, Warden, Mr. and Mrs. Armando H. Gonzales, Port Angeles, Mrs. Adelina H. Gonzales, Lake Forest Park, Mr. & Mrs. Gilberto Medina (Edna), Pasco, also Silvia H. Gonzales, Moses Lake. He is also survived by numerous grand and great nieces and nephews.

Alejandro was preceded in death by his parents Macedonio and Rosario Hernandez, , his sister Belen H. Noyola, brother-in-law Vicente R. Noyola, Jr., brother Alfredo A. Hernandez, sister-in-law Lupe Cavazos and a niece, Rosamaria H. Gonzales.
