Alicia R. Vela, 72, a 44-year Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

Alicia was born on Jan. 1, 1933 in La Union, N.M. On Feb. 25, 1960 she married the love of her life, Simon Vela. The made their home in Moses Lake where they raised their three children, Ernie, Steven and Tina.

Throughout her life, family was her highest priority. She spent much of her time loving and caring for her family. She will be remembered and cherished by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband Simon Vela, children Ernie Vela and wife Kathy, Steven Vela and wife Debbie, daughter Tina Henderson and husband Jon; grandchildren Cody Vela, Nikoh Vela, Casey Vela and Justin and Megan Henderson, great-granddaughter Jazmyn Vela, sister Eva Maldando, brother-in-law and wife Clyde and Carol Vela, brother-in-law and wife Greg and Lori Vela, brother-in-law and wife Nat and Romelia Noyola, sister-in-law and husband Eva and Pete Balli, sister-in-law and husband Elousie and Frank Alvarez, sister-in-law and husband Frances and Felix Ramarui, sister-in-law and husband Margarita and Juan Valtierra, sister-in-law Juanita Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Viewing will take place at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.
