Deborah Ann Staats

Deborah Ann Staats, age 53, died of a heart attack on Tuesday afternoon while at her daughter Amy's house.

Debbie, Deborah Fergusson, was born the oldest of 10, in Billings, Mont. on Feb. 14, 1952 to Elizabeth Altmier Fergusson and Glen Thomas Fergusson Jr. She moved with her family to Nampa, Idaho, where she attended St. Pauls grade school and West Junior High. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1971. She married first to Richard Lee Staats in February of 1971 and the son of this union is Christopher Lee Staats and later married Robert Staats on March 15, 1982. Amy and Robert were born from this union. The family moved first to Wenatchee and later to Moses Lake and most recently resided in Ponderee, Idaho.

Debbie was an active Girl Scout through out her life. She loved to paint and do crafts.

Debbie is survived by her husband Robert Staats of Ponderay, Idaho; three children Christopher Lee Staats, Nampa, Idaho, and his son Drew, Amy Elizabeth Staats of Moses lake, and Robert (Michelle) Staats, Moses Lake and their three children Danny, Aurora and Natalie and her three stepchildren, Debbie, her son Aaron and his two children Abigale and Calieb, Trese and her four children Jesica, Ashley, David and Maggie and stepson Keven, all in the Nampa area, her mother Elizabeth M. Fergusson, Nampa, Idaho, her four sisters, five brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Deborah Ann Staats will be held on Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. in Moses Lake and also on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Alsip funeral home in Nampa, Idaho at 11 a.m.
