Moses Lake improves to 5-1 on season

MOSES LAKE — The Lady Chiefs matched up against Selah Thursday looking for their fifth win of the season.

The first game was an easy win for Moses Lake, 825-683, and was marked by a ninth frame in which every team member bowled a strike or spare.

Michelle Reynolds got things started with a nine pin hit on her first try and scored the spare to finish her frame.

Susan Krcma, who began the day bowling with the junior varsity team before being moved back into a varsity slot, came up to the line at bowled a strike.

Danielle Hoffstetter added another ten pins to the count with a spare.

Emily Ozolins added a strike to her first game total of 213, putting her at the top of the heap.

Dawne Drummond finished off the frame with a spare to stretch Moses Lake's lead.

It was more of the same for the Lady Chiefs in the second game. Moses Lake racked up a stronger score in the second game, finishing with an 834 to win.

Hoffstetter had the high score of the second game with a 190. Krcma continued to bowl solidly with a 181.

"We shot two 800 series," said coach Billy Brice. "I'm very happy about that."

In the first baker game of the match, Moses Lake faltered, losing 166-145 but pulled out the win in the second baker game 181-139 for the overall win.

"We've been picking it up every week and we just keep getting better," Brice said.

Moses Lake's next match will be Tuesday against Eisenhower. Ike dealt the Lady Chiefs their only loss this season.

"I'm looking forward to that match," said Brice. "We'll try for a little revenge."
