Glenn Daniel William Timpke

| August 11, 2005 9:00 PM

Glenn Daniel William Timpke went to be with Jesus on Tuesday. Glenn was born Nov. 2, 1942 in Yakima, Wash. to Glen Daniel Timpke and Jean Lois Timpke, the third of four children. Glenn grew up in Yakima, later moving to Moses Lake, and then to Ephrata where he resided for 34 years. Glenn worked as a baker most of his life with the exception of some farm work and truck driving, and for the last seven years he was employed at the Columbia Basin Irrigation District.

Glenn lived life with such enthusiasm, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering in his shop (there wasn't much he couldn't fix). He truly loved to be outdoors and fishing was always a great time because it meant spending time with family and friends (and maybe even catching a keeper). Hunting was a time Glenn looked forward to each year. It was a time to reflect and ponder the world's problems (which he always had solutions for). Whether he was walking in sagebrush or in the mountains he always enjoyed God's country. Glenn's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, his enormous smile and encouraging words will be missed by all who knew him. He had great knowledge and understanding about so many things. Those many words of valuable advice and wisdom will be cherished by all that received them.

Glenn was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jean and Glen. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth, of Ephrata; nine children: James Goggin; Marty Nelson, and husband Shanon, of Ephrata; Joyce Harmon, and husband Cliff, of Ephrata; Angie D'avino, and husband Bob, of Port Orchard; John Goggin of Ephrata; Melissa Aragon of Port Orchard; Jennifer Bewick, and husband Dave, of Coulee City; Carol Jahn, and husband Eric, of Port Orchard; Melinda Steiner, and husband Keven, of Peshastin; 19 grandchildren: Alisa Courchane, Justin Nelson, Mandy Malone, Brandie Calloway, John Harmon, Mike Harmon, Josh Harmon, Amber Harmon, Dan D'avino, Amity Knowles, Breana D'avino, Sean Aragon, Joey Lakoduk, Miranda Lakoduk, Quinten and Micah Jahn, and Shayla and Kylie Steiner; great-grandchildren: Jayda, Madison, Ally, Faith, Addison, Cody and Rae Anne; and step-grandson, Jason Bewick and family of Ephrata.

We have been so blessed to have you in our lives. You were always there when we needed you; smiling, laughing and spreading love and joy. Even in your battle against cancer you never complained. You have taught us all so much of what it means to be good people, and to live life to the fullest — in good times and bad. We all take comfort knowing we will be together again someday and knowing you are walking with Jesus.

There will be visitation from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and a service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Ephrata. Nichols Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wenatchee Valley Medical Center Radiation Department.
