Robert Ewald Roloff

Robert Ewald Roloff, 82, a lifelong resident of Othello died Monday August 1, 2005 at the Othello Community Hospital.

Robert was born on September 3, 1922, on the family farm just outside of Othello, to Ewald and Bertha Suko Roloff. He graduated from Othello High School in 1940. After High School he became a partner to his father as dry land farmers, bringing in up to 3 bushels an acre. When the water came they branched out into other crops familiar to the basin: potatoes, corn, mint and onions. In 1972 Robert went into partnership with his son Terry. He was not only a partner but also a mentor and friend to his son, the partnership lasted until his death. He was a charter member of the Othello Rodeo Association. Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting and watching sports on TV, anything with a ball was on the television when Robert was home. Roberts Passion in life was golf. He played every day he could and when he couldn't play any longer he drove the cart and kept score. He was a member of the1 st Presbyterian Church of Othello.

His parents and a brother Elmer preceded Robert in death. He is survived by his wife Glorian Roloff of the family home; two sons Terry and wife Cindy of Othello and Craig of Palm Springs, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law Diane and Doug Austin of Woodinville, Wash.; two sisters Bonnie Mohr of Washington, Texas and Lorene Hodson of Othello; three granddaughters Michelle, Stacie and Brie and three great grandsons, Karsten, Kade and Korbin.

A celebration of Roberts's life will be held today Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.
