BEVERLY — A felony warrant has been issued for a Beverly man who apparently discharged a firearm and threatened a group of people in a home late Saturday night.

Luis "Chiva" Zuniga Perez, 31, would likely face charges of felony harassment and threats to kill if arrested. Witnesses allege he brandished a weapon, fired two shots with the gun and punched holes in the door of the home at 17301 Pasco Street SW with a gun barrel, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office. Perez reportedly resides on the same street.

The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team was eventually mobilized and arrived at the scene after Leonor Sosa, who was apparently in the home, called police to report the incident about 10:18 p.m.

TRT is a group of law enforcement officers from agencies in both Grant and Adams County who are dispatched to high-risk incidents.

Chief Criminal Deputy John Turley said that the suspect has also been allegedly involved in two past incidents similar to those described by witnesses Saturday.

On July 5, Perez was reportedly confronted by a man who lived near him about spinning his car tires. The neighbor told authorities that Perez had made gun pointing gestures in response to being confronted, but made no verbal threats at the time.

Prior to that incident, Perez is a suspect in a 1997 incident where he allegedly physically assaulted someone and threatened the victim's life, Turley said.

Authorities don't have employment information for Perez and are still trying to determine his whereabouts.
