Catherine Weller Lanham

Catherine Weller Lanham, 98, Moses Lake resident, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 at Springdale Cemetery, Springdale. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Kayser's Chapel and Crematory. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Catherine was born on March 28, 1907 near Red Lake Falls, Minn. daughter of the late George and Mary Weller. In September of 1907, her parents, two brothers and Catherine came by train to the Deer Park area. There the family was joined by three more boys.

Catherine was married to Otto Woodrow Lanham in 1927. They logged on Deer Creek for seven years and then bought a ranch in the Ford Wellpinit area. After "Wood's" death in 1981, she sold the ranch and moved to Spokane, living there until 2000 when she moved to Moses Lake to be near her cousins. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers.
