Higinio Martinez Campos

Higinio Martinez Campos, 46, of Moses Lake, went with his heavenly father on April 23, at his home.

He was born on September 13, 1958, to Guadalupe and Macedonio Campos Sr., in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was the tenth child of 11. In 1967, his father moved his family to Prosser, Washington where they lived for 3 years then to Warden in 1970. In 1977, Higinio moved with his younger brother to Othello. In 1983, he married Maria Salinas. They settled in Moses Lake in 1994.

Higinio had many passions; coaching his son's baseball team, spending time with his family, attending family events, cooking, and especially playing jokes on everybody. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July. Higinio's greatest passion was watching his children accomplish goals that he didn't have the opportunity to do.

Higinio is survived by his wife Maria of Moses Lake; his three sons, Elias, Daniel and Higinio Jr. all of Moses Lake; his daughter Esmeralda; his daughter-in-law Amanda of Moses Lake; his two grandsons, Michael Paul and Elias Xavier; his brothers, Jose of Munday, TX, Javier Sr., and Pedro Sr. of San Juan, TX, Luis of Fort Worth, TX, Macedonia Jr. of Memphis, TX, Leobardo of Coolidge, AZ and Ricardo Sr. of Othello; three sisters, Leonor Garza of Moses Lake, Olga Edeza of Salinas, CA and Noelia Moya of El Dorado, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law Maria Salinas; his nephews Moses Garza; and his brother-in-law Leonardo Garza, Sr.

A time for visitation will held on Thursday, April 28, 2005 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Bethel Spanish Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 29, 2005 beginning at 9:00 AM at the Church with burial to follow at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Hilario Garza and by Higinio's brothers, Reverend Luis M. Campos and Reverend Macedonio M. Campos, Jr.
