The Warriors played a non-league rematch with Connell Thursday and came out victors, 1-0, in a post-regulation shoot out. Wahluke had 14 shots on goal during regulation but were unable to find the back of the net.

Fernando Munoz had eight saves on the night and scored the first goal in the shoot out. Other scores came from Ernesto Rodriguez, Jose Mendez and Leo Gallardo. Munoz saved the fourth and fifth shots from Connell in the shoot out.

Thursday's win advances Wahluke to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in league. The Warriors play Othello at home on Saturday.

The Knights came out on top in the boys competition, at the par 70 Suntides Golf Course on Thursday, against Highland. The team combined for a score of 302. Highland was unable to put up a team score due to too few players. Joseph Perkins was the boys medalist for the day shooting a 73.

The big news of the match came when Brian Gilbert, who shot a 75, sank a hole in one on the par three, hole 13, using his six iron.

The other boys scores were: James Dykes, 76, Patrick Dorsing, 78, DJ Solis, 87 and Brandon Hubbard, 99.

The combined score of 302 is the best score the boys team has put up in an away match this season.

The Lady Knights lost to Highland 220 to 236. Jenny Janett had the low score of the day with a 52. Sarah Perkins and Erin Argo both put up a 61, Laura Perkins shot a 62, Janelle Cochran shot a 64, Chantel Anderson shot a 71 and Christina Jule shot a 77.

In an improvised boys JV match Stephen Brown shot a 111, Jacob Jeske finished with a 101 and Derek Matthews shot a 104.

The Cougars matched up against Cascade and lost 362 to 385 Thursday. Charles Bauman of Cascade was the medalist of the day with a 78. Chance Buck put up the lowest score for Warden, shooting a 94. Guy Jensen had a 95, Kevin McPartland and Eric Whitney both shot a 98, Robby Horn had a 106 and Ben Bisnett shot a 119.

The Warden girls team did not put up a team score, with only three players on the green. Cascade's Audre Kelley and Sarah Howe tied for the medal with a 57. Sophie Mayate had the low score for Warden, shooting a 64. Gloria Flores had a 79 and Liz Rodriguez shot an 85.

Othello was able to pull out a 4-3 win over Selah on Thursday. Nina Gonzalez started on the mound for Othello and pitched four innings. She was relieved by Michelle Wheeler. Othello put up their four runs on seven hits. Jenna Rosenberg hit 2 for 4, Donna Franco had a double and Michelle Wheeler belted a triple. Warden's win takes them to 3-2 overall. They open league play on Tuesday, against Grandview.

The Jacks boys team won two of the five matches of tennis played on Thursday against Lake Roosevelt. Gabe Lopez beat Shane Moses (6-0, 6-4) and the doubles pair of Fries/Seaburg defeated Brown/Fercha (6-2, 6-4). Other boys scores were: Cameron Rasmussen losing to Arther Oliveira (6-2, 4-6, 4-6), Michael Martin falling to Joel DeWinkler (4-6, 5-7) and the team of Mendez/Velasquez was defeated by Maldonado/Heater.

The Quincy girls eked out just one win Thursday. The doubles team of Romero/Felder defeated Mirkocski/Kerns (6-1, 6-4). The other girls scores were: Ali Swapp falling to Kristen James (1-6, 2-6), Mindy Kim losing to Lauren Barnaby-Barry (0-6, 0-6), Taylor Sunwold being defeated by Angie Moore (4-6, 5-7) and the team of Bird/VanDyke losing to Rise/Cawston (6-4, 3-6, 5-7).

The Wahluke boys team lost to Goldendale on Thursday one match to four. Alejandro Castano pulled out Wahluke's only win, defeating Nick Dumolt (6-0, 6-2). The second boys singles match was forfeited by Wahluke, as was the third boys doubles match. The team of Barajas/Ortiz was defeated by Stevens/Milliren (0-6, 1-6) and the team of Morgan/Andrade was defeated by Swigert/Wagner (1-6, 4-6).

The Lady Warriors did no better than the boys with just one win coming from Justine Gallacci, who defeated Alanda Seifert (4-6, 7-5, 6-1). The second girls singles game was lost by forfeit. The team of Poch/Zabylski lost to Nile/Scarola (2-6, 2-6), Diaz/Cochran was defeated by West/Ratlaff (0-6, 1-6) and the team de Jesus/Ornelas fell to Cline/Wu (4-6, 0-6).

The Chiefs competed with Eisenhower, Pasco and Eastmont on Thursday. In the boys 100 meter dash Aaron Wafer took first with a time of 11.03 seconds and Ryan Carpenter took fifth with a time of 11.60 seconds. Aaron Wafer took first again in the boys 200 meter with a time of 23.20 seconds. The boys 4 x 100 team of Craig Grant, Brenden Anderson, Ryan Carpenter and Aaron Wafer took second with a time of 44.63 seconds. The boys 4 x 400 team of Craig Grant, Brenden Thompson, Ryan Carpenter and Aaron Wafer put up a time of 3:41.0 minutes. Craig Grant took fourth in the boys 400 meter with a time of 54.79 seconds. Brenden Thompson placed fourth in the boys 800 meter with a time of 2:07.0 minutes. Chris Andrews took second in the boys high jump with a cleared height of 5'6" and fourth in long jump with a jump of 19'3.5". David Moore took first in the boys javelin with a distance of 178'8"; Kurt Ledabor took sixth in the event with a throw of 133'5". Billy Matthews took second in boys discus with a throw of 123'. In boys shot put, Kurt Ledabor took fourth with a throw of 44' and Cameron DeWitt took sixth throwing 40'7". Craig Grant took first in the boys pole vault with a cleared height of 13'6".

The girls did not fare as well but managed to place in several events. Amy Alporque took second in the 200 hurdles with a time of 16.8 seconds, fifth in the girls long jump with a distance of 13'8.75" and fifth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.87 seconds. Remeca Norwood took second in the girls 100 meter dash with a time of 13.13 seconds and sixth in the girls long jump with a distance of 13'7.75". Anne Noyes took fifth in the 200 hurdles with a time of 18.47 seconds and sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 52.8 seconds. Josie Daschel placed sixth in the girls shot put with a throw of 27'2.5". Mariah Hernandez tied for fifth in the girls high jump with a cleared height of 4'4" and took fifth in the girls javelin with a throw of 98'1". Alex Matthews placed seventh in the girls discus with a throw of 81'3".
